Seattle Here I come!

My travel plan to Mediterranean countries this summer didn’t come true for various reasons. After my children graduated and got their jobs, it’s getting more and more difficult to arrange family trips.
Expecting friends to travel with me is not easy, either. Nevertheless my trip to the States turned out surprisingly pleasant and fulfilling. Every time I go to America, I take the opportunity to visit my sister either at the beginning of the trip, or before I fly back to Taiwan. This time, visiting my sister was the reason of my trip. She was unable to visit Taiwan this year, whereas I need a trip to make my summer vacation truly relaxing and recreational. In the end I would not only spend quality time with my sister, but also attend two T/Ms meetings and meet some friends there.

When the day was near, I had almost forgotten my depression not being able to travel in Europe. I felt excited again as I kept putting things in the luggage and the day before my flight, I finally finished packing. I had to take out a lot of things that I over packed. I stood there looking at my luggage hoping it would not be over the weight limit allowed by the airline. As always, it was midnight when I went to bed. I could only enjoy four hours’ sleep if only I could calm myself down and fall asleep immediately.

The alarm clock dragged me off the bed even though I desperately wanted more sleep. I left home at the time exactly as I planned. Yet my careless genes took me 40 min. more to get to the Airport. It is a long story, but luckily I arrived at the airport in time for my flight. The rest was just routine and went smoothly. When I was finally sitting in the boarding room, my heart was singing, “Seattle, here I come!”
